Some bring crunch. Others bring colour, aroma or a chewy bite. Here is what makes each ingredient interesting, and how it contributes to the blend.
These are facts about individual ingredients, not measured nutrient amounts or promised health effects of a serving of Kare. Recipes and BYOG choices vary; check your chosen product’s label.
Rolled oats: A mellow, toasty foundation that contains beta-glucan, a soluble fibre. Oats also contain avenanthramides, a distinctive family of plant compounds.
Quinoa flakes: Light flakes with a gently nutty taste that complement the oats and add another grain-like texture.
Almonds and hazelnuts: Toasty crunch and naturally occurring vitamin E. Vitamin E has an antioxidant role in the body; the amount in a portion depends on the recipe.
Cashews: A mellow, buttery bite that balances the crunch of seeds.
Pumpkin seeds: A firm bite and a naturally occurring mix of minerals, including magnesium and zinc.
Sunflower seeds: A delicate, nutty flavour; sunflower seeds also contain vitamin E.
Hemp seeds: A softer, nutty texture that blends easily with oats.
Chia, flax and walnuts: Plant foods that contain ALA, a plant omega-3 fat. ALA is different from the EPA and DHA found in fish. Flax and walnuts are BYOG options when available.
Pecans: A rich, gently sweet crunch for custom blends, when available.
Unsweetened coconut: Chewy texture and toasted aroma. Like coconut oil, it contributes saturated fat.
Goji berries: A distinctive sweet-tart chew. They contain zeaxanthin, a naturally occurring carotenoid pigment.
Cranberries: Tangy fruit notes that balance oats and seeds. Dried fruit may have added sugar; check the ingredient list of your chosen blend.
Orange zest and juice: Fragrant citrus oils and bright flavour.
Blueberries, strawberries and currants: Fruity variety for BYOG when available. Blueberries contain anthocyanin pigments. The type of fruit, drying method and any sweetening affect its final composition.
Coffee: Roasted depth for Coffee Spike. Coffee contains caffeine; we have not provided a measured caffeine amount per serving.
Cacao nibs: Crisp pieces of cacao with a bittersweet chocolate character.
Cinnamon and nutmeg: Warmth and aroma that round out fruit, nuts and oats.
Ginger, turmeric and vanilla: Zing, earthy warmth or a rounded aromatic finish, depending on your custom selection and availability.
Coconut sugar: Caramel-like sweetness. It counts as added sugar in your blend.
Maple syrup: A woody, rounded sweetness in custom blends when available. It also counts as added sugar.
Stevia: An intensely sweet option when available in BYOG. Selecting it does not automatically make a finished blend sugar-free.
Coconut oil: Helps coat the ingredients for baking and contributes saturated fat.
Cocoa butter: The fat from the cacao bean, used for texture. Despite its name, it comes from cacao rather than milk. Always check the finished product’s allergen statement.

CLEAR INFORMATION. CONFIDENT CHOICES.
Start with the Nutrition Facts table. Compare calories, fibre, protein, sugars and saturated fat using the serving size shown on your selected blend.
Pack size is not serving size. A 100g cup or a 350g pouch describes the amount in the package. Use the label’s stated serving to understand the nutrition of the amount you eat.
Make it work for you. Enjoy a portion on its own or combine it with other foods. Milk, yogurt, fruit and other additions change the nutrition of your bowl or snack.
